KQR
Liquid Resistance Starters
The KQR series liquid resistance starter is an advanced motor starting control device designed to enhance the performance of large and medium-sized wound rotor motors. By connecting a liquid resistor to the rotor winding, the starter enables automatic, stepless starting, gradually adjusting the starting current for a smooth and controlled motor startup. This ensures optimal current regulation, effectively protecting the motor, equipment, and power supply network.
Compared to other types of starters, the KQR series offers key advantages, including higher automation, lower starting current, energy efficiency, and reduced electrical and mechanical impact. It is particularly suitable for high-inertia applications and can facilitate smooth starts even under low power line voltage, reducing the required transformer capacity. This makes it an ideal solution for starting heavy-duty machinery such as ball mills, crushers, elevators, compressors, fans, and pumps.
- Superior performance compared to conventional starters.
- Low starting current, typically less than 1.3 times the rated current.
- Capable of continuous starts, up to 5–10 cycles.
- Smooth startup, minimizing mechanical stress.
- Effective protection for motors and driven equipment.
- Operation at lower voltages:
- 6kV motors can start smoothly at 5.5kV.
- 380V motors can start at 340V.
- Simple and reliable design for long-term durability.
- Fully automated operation, with easy installation and low maintenance.
