NEWS

From June 25 to 27, 2025, UW Group hosted a series of celebratory events in Limassol, Cyprus, commemorating 25 years of continuous success, innovation, and service in the maritime industry.

Representing Valiadis Hellenic Motors S.A. at the event were Fivos Valiadis, Exports Director, and Dimitris Komeni, Business Development Manager. Our participation as a principal and partner in Cyprus—through our collaboration with UMAR | WSR—made this occasion all the more meaningful.

The three-day celebration featured:

  • A Welcome Cocktail at Sands Beach Club, attended by shipping authorities, international guests, and public officials.

  • A day devoted to community impact, including the donation of an inclusive playground and the unveiling of a commemorative sculpture.

  • A final evening gala at THEAMA, honoring the relationships and shared milestones that shaped UW Group’s journey.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the entire UW Group team, and especially to Founder & CEO Mr. Thrasos Tsangarides, for building an organization grounded in values, trust, and family spirit.

Valiadis SA is honored to be part of this journey—and we look forward to many more years of collaboration and shared growth.

Patras, Greece, 1951
Looking Back

The Christmas season had just ended—then, as now. In early January 1951, the city of Patras, with a population of 87,570, was slowly shaking off the festive stillness and returning to its daily rhythm. The people were eager to catch up with life: reconnecting, exchanging news, and setting their hopes on progress.

The local press captured the moment. Doctors and freelancers advertised their services, merchants promoted their goods, and a reporter filed a dispatch from Frankfurt, in what was then Western Germany, describing U.S. aid efforts helping a battered continent recover.

But 1951 marked more than just the end of a holiday. It marked the first steps forward after a global war. Greece was rebuilding. Industries were trying to regain momentum—and at 133 Maizonos Street, K. P. Yannakopoulos was doing his part. He promoted Valiadis Motors to support production and supply chains in a society still rising from the ashes of conflict.

It was Monday, January 8, 1951—a day like any other, yet filled with determination to begin again.

10 Years of SEAnergies
Industry Milestone

HEMEXPO – Hellenic Marine Equipment Manufacturers & Exporters celebrated its 10th anniversary on December 3, 2024, at the historic Skaramangas Shipyards—a site deeply rooted in Greece’s maritime legacy. The event marked a full decade of innovation, export growth, and collaboration among Greek marine equipment suppliers.

A key highlight of the evening was an announcement by the Minister of Maritime Affairs, who unveiled plans for a new maritime cluster in Piraeus. This upcoming initiative is set to strengthen cooperation across the sector, support Greek manufacturing, and enhance global competitiveness.

We were proud to support this milestone as a Golden Sponsor, reaffirming our commitment to the maritime sector. Our focus on advanced marine motor technologies, combined with close partnerships across the industry, reflects our shared goal: to power the next chapter of Greek maritime excellence.

Power Ultrasonic Parts Cleaning
High-Frequency Cleaning Technology for Motor Longevity – Powered by UltraTecno

Before repairs begin, cleaning motor parts thoroughly is more than a good practice—it’s essential. Over time, components like rotors, bearings, cooling fins, and terminal blocks accumulate a mix of dirt, grease, oil, carbon deposits, and even residue from prior repairs.

Conventional cleaning methods often fall short—especially when it comes to fine geometries, internal passages, and hard-to-reach surfaces.

That’s where ultrasonic cleaning comes in.

Using high-frequency sound waves, this technique generates microscopic bubbles in a cleaning solution. As the bubbles collapse (a process known as cavitation), they gently and effectively remove contaminants—even from the most intricate surfaces—without damaging the part.

Benefits of ultrasonic cleaning:

  • Penetrates tight crevices and internal passages

  • Removes a wide range of contaminants, including grease, carbon, and rust

  • Safe for delicate parts

  • Environmentally friendly and chemical-efficient

  • Reduces the need for part replacement

  • Increases motor lifespan and efficiency

Whether used during routine servicing or as part of major overhauls, ultrasonic cleaning is a cost-effective way to preserve the health and performance of electric motors.

This is maintenance innovation—delivered by Valiadis S.A.
