Dust, Cement, and Cooling Recovery
Maintenance Case from a Cement Plant Motor
Electric motor maintenance is a daily operation at our repair shop—and each case brings its own challenges. Recently, we received a motor from a cement plant, operating in a highly dust-laden environment. Upon arrival, the motor frame was clogged with hardened cement, which had severely compromised its cooling system.
Our team took the following steps to restore performance:
-
Performed a chemical cleaning treatment to remove all cement residues
-
Carefully dried the motor in our thermal oven to eliminate moisture
-
Completed a full mechanical and electrical overhaul
-
Applied a new protective paint coating
Once reassembled, we carried out no-load testing, confirming that the air-cooling system was working properly again. This step is crucial to ensure proper airflow and avoid winding burnouts caused by overheating.
Routine maintenance like this doesn’t just fix problems—it prevents future failures, protects efficiency, and extends motor life in harsh conditions.
