Slip Ring Motors

Reliable Solutions for High Inertia and High Torque Applications

Slip ring motors are designed for applications involving high inertia loads or high starting torque, and for installations where starting current limitations exist in the power supply network. Typical applications include ball mills, crushers, fans, exhausters, shredders, and grinders, primarily in the cement, mining, and steel industries, among others.

Standard Features

  • Voltage supply: Sinusoidal, from 3 kV to 13,800 V
  • Pole configurations: Manufactured from 4 to 12 poles
  • Frame construction:
    • Cast iron frames for sizes 315 to 450
    • Welded steel plates for frame sizes 500 and above

Cooling Methods

  • Open self-ventilated
  • Self-ventilated with ducts (air inlet and outlet)
  • Forced ventilated, with ducts for air inlet and outlet
  • Forced ventilation with top-mounted cooling system
  • Self-ventilated with air-to-air heat exchanger (top-mounted)
  • Self-ventilated with air-to-air heat exchanger (around the stator)
  • Forced ventilation in internal and external air circuits with air-to-air heat exchanger
  • Air-to-water heat exchanger
  • Air-to-water heat exchanger with forced ventilation in internal air circuit
